Best AI Marketing Tools for Small Teams (2026): Verified Pricing

Short answer (prices verified October 22, 2026): a team of one to five needs four things, not nine tools: a general assistant for drafting and research (ChatGPT Business or Claude Team, both $25 per seat monthly, $20 annual), a layout tool (Canva Business, $250 per person per year), an email and CRM layer (HubSpot Marketing Hub Starter at $20 per seat per month, $7 on the current new-customer offer, or Mailchimp Standard from $20 per month), and a system that turns drafts into sent campaigns, follow-up and attributed revenue. Jasper ($69 per seat monthly) and Copy.ai ($29 per month for five seats) are for teams whose bottleneck is copy volume. Tofu and Marqeable publish no price; Marqeable is in private beta.

Most “best AI marketing tools” lists are forty logos with a sentence each and no prices, because prices change and checking them is work. This one is nine tools, each price read from the vendor’s own pricing page on October 22, 2026, with the billing period, the seat minimum and the thing the tool does not do. We make one of the nine, we are in private beta, and we say so where we get there. Where a vendor shows a promotional price, both numbers are given; where a vendor publishes nothing, it says not public and we do not guess.

The frame is a loop, not a category: plan, generate, approve, send, measure. A small team’s stack is good when every stage has an owner and no stage is done by pasting between tools. Most of the nine cover one or two stages well. The gaps are where the evenings go.

MarqeableCampaigns from one brief, approval, send, website chat, automations, attributionNot public; private betaAgents draft, people approve, the same workspace sends and publishes

Three things to read in that table before the profiles. First, the two general assistants cost the same per seat, so nobody should pick between them on price. Second, the promotional numbers (HubSpot’s $7, Mailchimp’s 12-month $20) are the ones that appear in other lists as “the price”; the ongoing price is the one to budget. Third, the two tools that publish nothing are the two that claim to run campaigns end to end, which tells you something about the category.

The general assistants: ChatGPT Business and Claude Team

Every small team already has one of these, and it does more marketing work than any tool below: first drafts, research, rewrites, briefs, positioning arguments, the email you cannot start. At $25 per seat monthly or $20 annual, both are the cheapest line in the stack.

What separates them for marketing is not the model. It is connectors: whether the assistant can read your calendar, campaigns and automations and write drafts back into them. Both can, through MCP connectors, and both ask before a tool runs. ChatGPT adds GPT Image 2.5 in the same seat, which matters if images are part of the job; the prompt templates are built for it. Claude Team’s two-seat minimum fits a founder and a first hire. The longer comparison is Claude Team vs ChatGPT Business for marketing.

What they do not do: remember your brand between chats without a document you maintain, know your calendar unless connected, or send anything. A Custom GPT or a Project is a snapshot; a connector is a phone line.

The copy specialists: Jasper and Copy.ai

Jasper ($69 per seat monthly, $59 annual) is the brand-governance writing tool: voice profiles, style rules, a campaign workspace, and output that stays on-voice across many writers. If your bottleneck is ten people producing copy that should sound like one, Jasper is built for that. A team of one to three already paying for a general assistant will struggle to justify a second drafting seat.

Copy.ai is two products with one name. Chat at $29 per month for five seats is a capable copy assistant. Growth at $1,000 per month billed annually is a GTM workflow automation platform: enrichment, sequences, repeatable plays, with copy inside. The pricing canyon between them is the decision: if you have the ops capacity to design and run workflows, Growth replaces a lot of manual GTM work; if you do not, Chat is a cheaper ChatGPT. Neither claims a native email or SMS send layer or revenue attribution. The vendor-by-vendor detail is in Tofu alternatives.

The layout tool: Canva

Canva Pro at US$144 per year is one person; Business at US$250 per person per year is the plan the moment a second person needs a login. It is where generated images become finished assets with real text layers, resized per channel, under brand kits (100 on Business) and approvals. Canva AI 2.0 is included on paid plans with AI usage caps and a paid AI Pass above them.

What it does not do: generate the image as reliably as a dedicated model when a reference product or readable text is involved, know which campaign the asset belongs to, or send anything. ChatGPT vs Canva for marketing images is the honest split: generate in one, finish in the other.

The email and CRM layer: HubSpot and Mailchimp

HubSpot Marketing Hub Starter is the entry point most small B2B teams land on: email, forms, landing pages and a free CRM underneath, from $20 per seat per month with 1,000 marketing contacts (the $7 price on the page is a new-customer offer for a limited time). Automation workflows and the Breeze agents that do work sit behind Professional at $800 per month, with three seats, 2,000 contacts and a required $3,000 onboarding fee. That two-layer cost is the number to model before you assume HubSpot will run your campaigns; HubSpot Breeze alternatives prices it slice by slice.

Mailchimp Standard at $20 per month for the first 12 months (5 seats, 6,000 emails per month, up to 200 automation flows) is the simplest paid email layer. The price scales with list size, and Mailchimp bills for all contacts including unsubscribed ones unless you archive them. Essentials at $13 and a Free plan up to 250 contacts cover the smallest teams. It is an email tool first; SMS, website chat and attribution are elsewhere.

What neither does: write the campaign from a brief, answer website visitors in conversation, or tell you which message produced revenue without a spreadsheet.

The campaign engines: Tofu and Marqeable

Tofu is an agentic campaign orchestrator: it plans from CRM data and intent signals, generates multi-asset campaigns, and launches through HubSpot, Marketo, Salesforce or Outreach. It publishes no pricing and sells through a sales conversation, which with its integration list points at teams that already run an enterprise stack. For a team of one to five on Starter-tier tools it is usually the wrong size.

Marqeable is ours, so read this paragraph as a vendor’s. It is where agents and a small marketing team work together: an agent drafts a campaign from one brief, people review and approve each piece, and the same workspace sends the email and text, answers website visitors with AI chat, runs behavior-triggered automations and ties revenue to the exact message. It is in private beta with a small early cohort and publishes no price. It is not a scheduler, not an ad platform, and not the tool if you need enterprise account routing. Get early access if the loop above is the gap in your stack.

The four-tool stack for a team of one to five

Map each tool against the five stages and the pattern is plain:

StageOwner in a small-team stackTools that cover it
PlanA calendar that knows the offer and what already ranMarqeable; HubSpot Professional partially; a spreadsheet otherwise
GenerateA general assistant plus a layout toolChatGPT or Claude; Canva; Jasper or Copy.ai for volume
ApproveA review step with a recordMarqeable; Canva approvals for assets; Jasper for copy
SendEmail, text, chat, posts, from one placeHubSpot or Mailchimp for email; Marqeable for email, text, chat and posts
MeasureRevenue by message, not opensMarqeable attribution; HubSpot Professional reporting

The stack most teams of this size end up with: one general assistant seat per person, Canva Business, one email and CRM layer, and one system that owns plan, approve, send and measure so the drafts have somewhere to go. Add Jasper or Copy.ai Growth only when copy volume, not the carry between tools, is what is slowing you down.

How to run the evaluation

  1. Price the ongoing number, not the offer. Write both down, budget the second.
  2. Count the seats you actually need in twelve months. Canva Pro to Business and Copy.ai Chat to Growth are the two cliffs.
  3. Ask each tool which stage of the loop it owns, and which it hands to you. A tool whose website goes quiet on approve and measure is a tool you will finish by hand.
  4. Ask for the connector. Any tool that cannot be read and written by your assistant through MCP will be the one you paste into. Does it have an MCP server is the checklist.
  5. Run one real campaign through the shortlist before you sign an annual term. The tool that gets it from brief to sent with the fewest pastes wins.

Frequently asked questions

What are the best AI marketing tools for a small team?

A general assistant (ChatGPT Business or Claude Team, $25 per seat monthly or $20 annual), Canva Business ($250 per person per year), an email and CRM layer (HubSpot Marketing Hub Starter from $20 per seat per month, or Mailchimp Standard from $20 per month), and a system that turns drafts into sent campaigns, follow-up and attribution. Jasper and Copy.ai fit teams whose bottleneck is copy volume; Tofu fits teams with a mature enterprise stack.

How much do AI marketing tools cost for a small team?

Read from vendor pages on October 22, 2026: ChatGPT Business $25 per seat monthly ($20 annual); Claude Team $25 monthly ($20 annual), two-seat minimum; Jasper Pro $69 per seat monthly ($59 annual); Copy.ai Chat $29 per month for five seats and Growth $1,000 per month billed annually; Canva Pro $144 per year and Business $250 per person per year; HubSpot Marketing Hub Starter $20 per seat per month ($7 on the current new-customer offer) and Professional $800 per month plus $3,000 onboarding; Mailchimp Standard $20 per month for the first 12 months. Tofu and Marqeable publish no price.

Is ChatGPT or Claude better for marketing on a small team?

They cost the same per seat and both connect to marketing systems through connectors that ask before a tool runs. Pick by the connectors your team already uses and by the assistant your people reach for. ChatGPT adds GPT Image 2.5 in the same seat.

Do I need Jasper or Copy.ai if I already pay for ChatGPT?

Only if copy volume with enforced brand voice is the bottleneck. A team of one to five that already has a general assistant usually needs the layer after drafting more than a second drafting tool.

The bottom line

Nine tools, four jobs. The general assistants are cheap and interchangeable on price; the copy specialists earn their seat only at volume; Canva finishes what the models generate; HubSpot and Mailchimp send email and little else; and the two tools that claim the whole loop are the two with no public price. Budget the ongoing number, count next year’s seats, and pick the stack where every stage of plan, generate, approve, send and measure has an owner, because the stage nobody owns is the one you will be doing at 9pm.
